How to wear press on nails
Step 1: Prepare Your Nails
Clean your nails: Remove any old nail polish, dirt, or oils using nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. This ensures better adhesion.
Step 2: Push Back Cuticles
Use a cuticle pusher or wood stick to gently push back your cuticles. This gives a clean surface for the press-on nails to adhere to and helps them look more natural.
Step 3: Buff Your Nails
Lightly buff the surface of your natural nails using a nail buffer. This removes shine and helps the adhesive stick better.
Step 4: Apply Adhesive
-
For adhesive tabs: Peel off the backing of the tab, place it on your nail, and press down to secure it.
-
For nail glue: Apply a thin, even layer of glue to your natural nail and the back of the press-on nail. Avoid over-applying to prevent glue from oozing out.
Step 5: Attach the Press-On Nails
Align the press-on nail with your natural nail, starting at the cuticle and angling it slightly downward.
Press the nail firmly for 10–30 seconds to secure it in place. Make sure there are no air bubbles.
Step 6: Shape and Adjust (If Needed)
Use a nail file to adjust the shape or length of the press-on nails if desired.
Step 7: Finish Up
Avoid exposing your nails to water or excessive pressure for at least 2–3 hours to ensure the adhesive sets properly.
